Pete’s love for crafting began as a small boy. He spent much of his childhood tinkering in his father’s shed, building billycarts, bows and arrows and cubbyhouses.
This passion for creating led Pete to complete his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker with Montague Furniture, a high-end third-generation furniture maker in Sydney.
From there, his quest to become a world-class master craftsman has led him across the globe.
THE STUDIO
From the Andes of South America and the dusty streets of India, the Scottish Highlands & Nepal’s mountains, Pete’s search for the most exotic and purist materials has led him to his Studio nestled in the Tasmanian Wilderness
-
Australia.
Pete spent ten years working alongside one of the world’s most elite craftsman David Boucher from Boucher & Co, where he was trusted to design and craft an exquisite collection of furniture masterpieces for Australian and British Dignitaries, Royalty and Hollywood stars.
-
Britain.
Worked with Britain’s award-winning artisan furniture designer Andrew Varah, to perfect Andrew’s famous glass infinity model technique.
Further worked with renowned UK artisan craftsmen including Andrew Crawford to create decorative musical instrument cases & Richard Williams to craft ultra-high-end contemporary furniture.
-
Ireland.
Pete worked with Ireland’s award-winning Zelouf & Bell furniture makers on limited edition museum-quality furniture pieces for private collections, public offices, embassy residences, churches and museums.
-
Scotland.
Learned from Scotland’s Angus Ross, who hand-picks timber from his own woodland and sculpts trees into extraordinarily shaped oak and walnut furniture.
-
Japan.
Lived in traditional Japanese villages to closely observe craftsmen in their workshops to perfect his own joinery techniques.
A self-confessed perfectionist, Pete has scoured the world for the finest and rarest materials, settling in Tasmania’s pristine forests,
where he is surrounded by a treasure trove of the world’s greatest hardwood timbers.
“Pete’s appetite for travel, and for working with some of the highest level furniture makers around the world has given him unique experience to now produce very fine work of his own”
